TEEN VOICES - FIRST TERM

In this class Meghan has already arrived, she's been from USA.
We didn't go to class, because I went to a religion trip (we traveled to a convent) and Cristina was ill. However, we asked our classmates the information of this day.

Our classmates were reading a text about the mix of cultures in Britain:

-From 500 BC to 1000 AD Britain was invaded by Celts, Romans, Saxons, Vikings and Normans.
-In the first half of 20TH century Irish people came to Britain to escape famine and Jewish people to escape anti-Semitism in Eastern Europe.
-During 1950s and 1960s, immigrants from British colonies and former colonies in the Caribbean and Asia came to Britain to look for a job.
-Nowadays, people came to Britain, because they escape wars and political persecutions.
- Thanks to that mix of cultures, Britain has interesting traditions as "Notting Hill Carnival" and tasty food as "Curry".
- On the other hand, in Britain it also exits discrimination and racism.
Finally, people have done a listening about immigrants in Britain, but we read the text and answered the questions.

I think this topic is very interesting, because I like that societies are multicultural. I don't understand people that are racist and don't respect other persons.
